Well we did it. SmartAlyx Computer musings upgraded to Wordpress 2.7. Being in the technical field the word “upgrade” brings along a little heartburn among other things. However, I chose Wordpress in the first place due to the ease of use and the fantastic documentation I found. And once again the product did not fail to impress.
Following the directions here were a snap. I also made sure to follow these backup instructions, just in case. Within minutes I had moved my entire blog (small I know, but it is mine) to the new version. Short version of what I did- backup wp files and database, upload new wp files, modify config files as needed and hit the admin pages for the database to be upgraded. Painless and quick.
As I look at the admin interface I think I will enjoy the product even more.
